## **Welcome to Dining.Gifts!** Try new dining experiences and get back up to 30%. **Our goal is to collect real photos of all the dishes from all the restaurants and to help users quickly find the best dining options nearby.** [Join us on this quest!](https://dining.gifts) ### How does it work? The first step is to find a restaurant and a dish you would like to try. To do this, open the map and explore the restaurants with active rewards. You can also search the map for the name of a dish or even an ingredient to see all the available options. Then reserve the reward. Once reserved, you'll have several days to order the dish (pick-up and delivery orders are also eligible for rewards, unless otherwise specified). Please keep a copy of the receipt. Third, once you have the dish in front of you, take at least 2 original photos (an overview and a close-up) of the dish and post them, following the link in the active reservation on Dining.Gifts. Please keep the links to the restaurant and the dish in the post. That's it! Sponosrs will verify the authenticity of the post and pay the rewards directly into your account on Hive. ### **Who are the sponsors?** Rewards are sponsored by a veriety of parties, including guides, restaurants and other companies. If you have questions about a specific reward, you can contact the sponsor directly by posting comments under your reservation. ### **What is Hive?** Hive is an open social blockchain, where users directly control their accounts and funds. Users are no longer "owned by the website" and the same account can be used to access other Hive-enabled apps and websites. When you make a post on Dining.Gifts, all of your Hive followers can see, like and comment regardless of the app they are currently using. And no one can shut your account down or take away your posting privileges. Hive is one of the most advanced and active decentralized blockchains in existence.Learn more about [Hive.io](https://hive.io/). ### **What is Hivesigner?** Hivesigner is the first option on the Sign In screen. This is a secure way to use Hive account to access Dining.Gifts without exposing your private keys. You keys are safely stored in your browser (use the encryption option for enhanced security) and are not shared with any third party. Hivesigner is open source project and you can learn more about it [here](https://github.com/ledgerconnect/hivesigner/wiki/How-Hivesigner-Works%3F). ### How to open a new Hive account? The easiest way to open a new Hive account is to use [HiveOnBoard.com](https://hiveonboard.com/create-account). This service covers the cost of creating new accounts, but requires a unique cell phone number to ensure that users do not abuse the system. If you need multiple accounts or prefer additional levels of anonymity, you may ask another Dining.Gifts user to give you a VIP ticket (5 HIVE) or you can explore [other options](https://signup.hive.io/). ### How to keep private keys safe? When a new Hive account is created, it comes with a set of 5 private keys. Please keep them in a safe place (e.g. print them out), as there is no "Forgot Password" procedure on Hive. It is also recommended to use services such as [1Password.com](https://1password.com/) (paid) or [KeePass](https://keepass.info/) (free, open source) to back up your keys and make them easily accessible on all your devices. ### What are all these Hive keys are used for? Each Hive account has four private keys and a master password. The **master password** is used to generate all other private keys. Always use the lower level specialized keys to log into Hive websites and applications. **Posting key** - this is your social key. Use it to publish posts and comments, follow users and topics, vote for other posts and edit your profile. **Active key** - this is your financial key. Use it to transfer funds, power up and down, exchange tokens, etc. You also need the active key to authorize HiveSigner the first time you use it. **Memo key** - this is your encryption key - use it to decode encrypted messages sent to you. **Owner key** - use this key to change all other keys. It is recommended to keep the master password and owner key offline and only use them in an emergency (for example, when you need to reset keys or recover your account). **Beware of phishing attempts! Do not share your keys with anyone and always check that the HiveSigner web address is correct before importing your keys.** ### ### **Is there an easier way to access Dining.Gifts?** Yes, Dining.Gifts offers guest accounts! If you have a Facebook or Google account, you can simply log in using those accounts. Guest account is a compelling option for users who are just learning about cryptos and want to avoid the extra complexity of securely keeping their private keys. Guest accounts may participate in rewards programs, collect author rewards, earn expertise, but they do not receive curation rewards and their posts and profiles may not be properly processed by other Hive apps and websites. Guest accounts do not have access to Hive Power, Hive Dollars and cannot use internal Hive exchange. Guest accounts can only accumulate liquid HIVE and are generally suitable for keeping smaller amounts. Once users learn about the blockchain and become interested in building their social presence on Hive, they should consider creating a regular [Hive account](https://signup.hive.io/). ### **How are the rewards paid?** Rewards are denominated in USD and paid in HIVE cryptocurrency. The exact amount of HIVE is determined at the time of reward reservation according to the current exchange rate.Rewards are usually paid as a combination of Hive Power (powered up HIVE) and liquid HIVE. If you plan to withdraw your rewards immediately, you will need liquid HIVE. But you may prefer Hive Power if you plan to accumulate your funds in order to receive curation rewards and to build up your social reputation. Please note that the conversion from liquid HIVE to Hive Power (power up) is instantaneous, but it takes 13 weeks (!) to power down Hive Power into liquid HIVE (equal portions each week). Sponsors can use a different combination of Hive Power and liquid HIVE to pay the rewards. HIVE can be also cashed out to dollars through any [Bitcoin ATM](https://www.google.com/maps/search/bitcoin+atm/@49.2642053,-123.1442173,12.18z) by converting HIVE to Bitcoin (or Litecoin, which is faster) and sending funds to the wallet address of that ATM. New posts on Hive accumulate likes for a period of 7 days. The overall value of these likes defines how much this post will earn from the inflation that is distributed among all authors and curators for that day. Important: The value of likes is determined by the amount of Hive Power users hold in their accounts. The value of the likes received from the sponsor (registered accounts are specified in the reservation) will count towards the payment of the posted reward, while the value of all other likes will result in additional income. Once the exact amount of the outstanding liquid HIVE payment is known (after 7 days), it may take sponsors up to 21 days to make the payment. Dining.Gifts automatically suspends campaigns by sponsors who have not paid their obligations for 30 days or more. ### **Where can I see all the payments due to me?** Open the Rewards menu and select the Receivables section. Here you can see a summary of all the liquid HIVE payments owed to you by the sponsors. When you are ready to post photos, open Rewards/Reserved and click "Write review" button. The editor will have all the required links already included. To take/upload photos, click the Plus sign and follow the instructions. Once the post is ready, click "Ready to publish", preview and publish it.
